We are glad to see the application for the relocation of operational plant at Lakeland Concrete Ltd be approved through delegated authority at Cumbria County Council.
The scheme is for the relocation of an existing fixed secondary and tertiary crusher within the North Lakes Industrial Estate to the neighbouring operational Silver Fields Quarry working void. The application was submitted to resolve potential Environmental Health concerns in relation to dust highlighted by Eden District Council. Stephenson Halliday coordinated, prepared and submitted the Planning Application on behalf of Lakeland Concrete Ltd / Inglewood Aggregates Ltd.
Resolving community objections
A number of concerns and objections were raised by members of the local community following submission of the application. Stephenson Halliday, together with our client met with the Parish Council and community members on site, to ensure the proposal could be understood fully, and the existing operational plant and proposed relocation position viewed. Following this engagement we were happy to see all objections resolved and withdrawn, and the application approved.
