From time to time our clients need strategic advice on how to take forward their proposals. Rainford Environmental approached us following an initial refusal of their application for an ATAD plant on a former ammunitions depot in the green belt. The purpose of their approach was to look at pursuing an appeal. Our suggestion was to resubmit the application and take advantage of a free-go and to maximise the opportunities of an approval submit an appeal concurrently. The free-go application was re-submitted following some adjustments to overcome the reasons for refusal and Stephenson Halliday prepared and submitted the appeal against the refusal. However, the appeal was withdrawn following approval of the free-go application.  We always endeavour to find the most effective way of achieving the outcome you want.
